Department Profile

Department of Botany, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur (India) is one of the prestigious departments of the University. It offers high level academic and research environment to the M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. The department is working on various research areas i.e. Plant Physiology, Plant Tissue Culture, Ecology, Bioenergetics, Microbiology, Phytochemistry etc. Notable alumni of the departments are Prof. Rameshwer Sharma, Prof. P.L. Swarnkar, Prof. B.L. Choudhary, Prof. P.S. Jain. Eminent botanists like Prof. H.D. Kumar, Prof. H.N. Singh, Prof. C.P. Malik, Prof. Y.D. Tyagi, Prof, L.N. Vyas  have served here as the Head of the Department. Main objective of the department is to develop scientific attitude in the students, so that they can serve for the scientific growth and development of the nation.
